Ballina Soccer Club pulling together for a bigger and better 2010 is the title of the February Newsletter that is available for download from the following link. The newsletter covers the upcoming sign on days, and contains some vital information on fees equipment purchases and most importantly what positions are still available in the 2010 committee.
We will work on getting this newsletter on the site in the near future, as well as getting it to you in electronic format.
In the meantime – click here to download 20th Feb Newsletter 2010
The sign on date for all ages and grades has been set for the 20th of February from 11am til 3pm. A second day has been set for 27th of February from 11am til 3pm. We hope to see as many players as we have previous years, because this year is looking to be a GREAT one.
Womens Pre-season training is beginning on the Tuesday 9th of Febuary 2010 at 6pm at the Ballina Soccer Club, and is open to any women wishing to play for the club this season.
If you haven’t played for the club before now this is the best time to come and meet the teams and coaches involved in the womens league.
We hope to see a great turn out for this season…
In a huge day for Ballina Soccer Club two of the mens senior teams backed up their minor premiers status by booking the quickest route to the grand final.
In the first game Ballina Premier Reserves continued their winning ways with a 2-1 win over Richmond Rovers and help. Dylan Monnox scored in the first half which was then backed up in the second by we think Ben Coulter after the ball seemed to cross the line 3 or 4 times.
Rovers were given a consolation penalty to set up a tight finish which was then made tighter by some interesting time keeping.
In the second game Ballina Seconds were able to just edge past Tintenbar by about 8 or so to 1. Goals came from all over the park and I can’t remember who scored them but they were all good.
So now the 2nds and reggies will be playing their grand finals at Croziers oval in Lismore on the 27th of September. Get up their and support the boys
In what has been a long awaited event the Ballina Premier Reserves have taken out the point score championship for the 09 season.
This has come about after Italo Stars did us a favour and beat Richmond ROvers 3-0 on Wednesday night, thus leaving the Ballina Reggies 5 points clear with only one game to go.
Big congratulations to all the boys and a big tip of the hat to Rod “Rocket” Troughton who’s taken out the minor premiership in his first year of seniors coaching.
Lets all get down there on saturday to S1 at 1:00 pmto cheer the boys on in their final game then come up stairs to bring the Premiers home with a win over Byron.
As an added bonus Todd Jones will be signing autographs up stairs all afternoon
